Polyolefin powder coating imparts hardness, flexibility, low gloss

IFS Coatings has launched IFS Puroplaz PE16, a thermoplastic modified polyolefin powder coating that combines hardness, flexibility, and high adhesion properties. The coating delivers a Shore D hardness of 60, extremely high gravelometer performance, and outstanding impact and abrasion resistance, the company states.

The coating is suitable for use on products that will be formed after coating, such as woven wire fence, that also require excellent abrasion resistance. Other applications include fence poles, baskets, battery boxes, agricultural implements, automotive springs, water pipe and fittings, petroleum pipe and fittings, and foot traffic areas.

Imparting a low gloss, the product can be used to replace nylon coatings in certain applications. It is available in both spray and dip grade formulations and is formulated without the use of PVC, phthalates, or BPA.
