Guild Intl. to supply fiber laser welder to large stainless producer

Guild Intl., Bedford, Ohio, a provider of coil processing equipment for the steel, tube and pipe, and stamping industries, has been chosen to supply a fiber laser welder for a new direct rolling, annealing, and pickling line being built for a large steel producer based in India.

The fully automatic welder produces seamless welds with zero overthickness, according to the company, and includes an induction annealer and planisher. When completed at the end of 2022, the new processing line will have an annual capacity of about 700,000 metric tons of cold-rolled 200, 300, and 400 series stainless steel.
