Dapra opens milling center in Illinois

Dapra Corp., a manufacturer of indexable milling tools and a supplier of direct part marking systems, has announced the opening of a new Midwest Tech Center site for customer training and testing in Rockford, Ill.

The facility serves as a site for training, prototype testing, turnkey application development, and educational opportunities, with the goal of helping customers maximize their milling efficiency and increase their productivity.

Providing theoretical and practical training, the center has a 30-HP, 12,000-RPM Haas VM-2 machine tool on the classroom floor for hands-on demonstrations. This mold/die machine is suitable for complex 3-D surfacing and typical 2-D profiling and face milling. Classes explore insert grade and geometry selection, ideal operating parameters, and setup and programming tips. Direct part marking capabilities also are available for demonstration.
