Superior Joining Technologies adds 5-axis machining capabilities

Machesney Park, Ill.-based Superior Joining Technologies Inc. has announced the recent asset purchase of Azimuth CNC. SJTI has acquired precision CNC machining equipment and highly trained staff, allowing it to enter the machining sector of the aerospace manufacturing industry by supplying complex componentry and tight-tolerance machined parts, through its existing approval and accreditations.

This precision machining center, equipped with six DMG 5-axis milling machines, has been approved within the company’s AS9100 quality management system. The largest two machines have a workspace capacity of up to 49 in., 34 in., and 34 in. in the X, Y, and Z axes, respectively, for complex projects.
