Trace-A-Matic adds CNC machining center

Trace-A-Matic Corp., a manufacturer of precision parts and assemblies, has installed a new Smart NL 6000 2-axis CNC lathe in Plant 5 at its Brookfield, Wis., location. The slant bed lathe features a 24-in. chuck, 31.5-in. swing over carriage maximum, 36-in. swing over ways maximum, 60-in. center-to-center maximum, 5.5-in. spindle bore, and 12-station cutting tool turret.

The machine extends the capacity and capabilities of the 116,000-sq.-ft. facility. It will be used primarily to serve the aerospace industry, as well as general machining jobs.
