Alro Steel to acquire Pottinger Steel

Alro Steel has announced an agreement to acquire Pottinger Steel in Racine, Wis. The deal is expected to close Nov. 3, 2023.

Pottinger Steel was founded in 1898 by Robert B. Pottinger as a blacksmith shop and general steel supplier. In 1970, the Pottinger family sold the company to Eugene Rinehart, who grew the company to become a steel service center. It has remained in the Rinehart family for more than 50 years, currently operating under the direction of Eric, Matt, and Kim Rinehart. Pottinger offers a variety of metals, including carbon steel, alloys, stainless steel, and aluminum.
