Braidy Industries announces board of directors

Braidy Industries, a producer of aluminum roll and sheet in Ashland, Ky., has announced its board of directors.

Dr. Michael E. Porter is an economist, Harvard professor, and leader of Harvard University’s Institute for Strategy & Competitiveness. The author of 19 books, he has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce for his contributions to economic development.

Retired General Norton "Norty" Schwartz, president/CEO of Business Executives for National Security, was the 19th chief of staff of the U.S. Air Force, serving as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and leading air, space, and cyber for the Department of Defense. He also was commander of the U.S. Transportation Command.

Dr. Christopher Schuh is the head of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at MIT. His research is focused on the optimization of mechanical properties in metals. He also is also involved in Desktop Metal, which provides a lower-cost option for metal additive manufacturing via its proprietary 3-D metal printers.

Charles Price is an entrepreneur, industrialist, and president/CEO of Charah. He has over 35 years of experience in the construction and industrial industries. Price serves as the chairman of the board of the American Coal Ash Association.

John Preston is the former director of technology development (and licensing) at MIT. He was awarded the rank of Knight of the Order of National Merit of France by French President Mitterrand and the Hammer Award for Reinventing Government by Vice President Al Gore.

Craig Bouchard, chairman and CEO of Braidy Industries, is a strategist and industrialist who built three companies in the past decade that generated billion-dollar revenue. Bouchard is a noted expert on lean, Six Sigma, and capital allocation and is the New York Times bestselling author of “The Caterpillar Way.”
