Braner/Loopco to deliver slitting line to Acero Prime

Braner/Loopco has received an order to build a 72-in., ultrahigh-strength, double-loop slitting line for Acero Prime’s Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, coil processing facility. The line will process 30-ton coils up to 290,000 PSI in gauges from 0.020 to 0.250 in. with double-loop, single-loop, and tight line constant speed operating modes.

The line will be equipped with a loop control payoff uncoiler, turret head slitter with three quick-change heads, lightweight threadless CloverNut tooling lockup, nonmarking duplex tensioner with automatic-change wet and dry tension rolls and antiskid automatic strip tension control, 20- and 24-in. recoiler drums that exchange in two minutes, two-speed recoiler, offline coil OD banding, and automatic Andiamo coil threadup.
