General Magnaplate Corp. brings AptiMag-X™ surface treatment enhancement process to the North American market

General Magnaplate Corp., Linden, N.J., has entered an exclusive license agreement with U.K.-based Poeton Industries Ltd. for the Apticote A20X™ surface enhancement process used for treating A20X aluminum alloy.

Developed and patented by Aeromet Intl. Ltd, a U.K.-based aerospace casting supplier, A20X is licensed to foundries around the world and also is available in powder form for additive manufacturing.

Under the agreement, General Magnaplate is the exclusive supplier of the product, which will be branded AptiMag-X™ in North America. Licensed A20X foundries, additive manufacturing companies, and aerospace customers will be able to have parts treated at the company’s facilities in Linden and in Arlington, Texas.
