H.C. Starck develops niobium alloy for aerospace industry

H.C. Starck's Fabricated Products Division, Newton, Mass., has developed niobium C-103 alloy for rocket and jet propulsion applications utilized in spacecraft and launch vehicles.

The alloy offers excellent resistance to high-frequency vibrations at cryogenic temperatures that occur in satellites and rocket nozzle applications, the company reports.
