Industrial Fabricators installs Braner slitting line

Industrial Fabricators Inc., a supplier of carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless metal fabrications and flat-rolled processing and metal distribution services, has installed a single-loop Braner/Loopco turret head slitting line and an automatic slit coil packaging line in its Gastonia, N.C., coil processing facility.

The line has the capacity to process 84-in.-OD carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless coil in gauges from 0.024 to 0.375 in. Coil mechanical properties are to 100,000 PSI. The slitting line features paper interleaving and PVC laminating for nonferrous coil processing, a quick-change turret slitter equipped with threadless aluminum tooling lock-up, power thread-up scrap winders, nonmarking loop control tensioning, a recoiler that changes from 20- to 24-in.-ID coils in 2 min., and automation.
