Lapham-Hickey acquires The Thompson Companies

Lapham-Hickey Steel Corp., a carbon service center in Bedford Park, Ill., has acquired The Thompson Companies, comprising the family-owned Thompson Dayton Steel Service Centers.

Thompson Dayton is a supplier of flat-rolled steel products with locations in Paulding, Ohio; Dayton, Ohio; Rome, Ga.; and Fountain Inn, S.C. The four locations continue to operate under the Thompson Dayton name and retain the existing sales and operating teams.

Thompson Dayton offers slitting, cut-to-length, blanking, oscillating, and hardening and tempering. The product line includes hot-rolled, cold-rolled, and coated products; tempered spring steel; low- and high-carbon strip steel; and band saw steels.

Lapham-Hickey Steel supplies slit coil, sheet, plate, bars, tubing, and fabricated products from 11 locations throughout the Midwest, East Coast and Southeast.
