Olympic Steel announces leadership changes

National metals service center Olympic Steel Inc., Cleveland, has hired Edward “Max” Fitzgerald in the newly created role of vice president – fabrication. He has more than 23 years of experience in new product development, global supply chain management, operations management, and strategic planning, serving most recently as global category procurement manager for an international OEM.

Fitzgerald holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from University of South Carolina and an MBA from Wake Forest University School of Business.

The company also has named Matthew Grussing as director of sales – fabrication. He joined the company in 2010 as an inside sales representative. In his more than 13 years with the company, he has held commercial roles of increasing responsibility, most recently serving as general manager for the Minneapolis Plate facility.

Grussing earned an associate degree in mechanical drafting and design from Ridgewater College, as well as a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bemidji State University. He is a graduate of the Metals Service Center Institute’s Strategic Metals Management Program at Washington University in St. Louis.
