Paulo to add Quintus hot isostatic press

Heat-treating provider Paulo will add hot isostatic pressing to its thermal processing services with the acquisition of a QIH 122 M URC® hot isostatic press from Quintus Technologies. The press is equipped with the manufacturer’s proprietary uniform rapid cooling, a feature that helps improve material properties in additive manufacturing and investment casting.

The press will be installed in Paulo’s recently expanded Cleveland Division, in Willoughby, Ohio, which provides brazing and vacuum heat treatment. It has a work zone of 26 in. dia. and 68.9 in. high. It operates at a maximum temperature of 2,552 degrees F and maximum pressure of 30,000 PSI.
