Red Bud Industries receives order for slitting/packaging line from JM Steel

Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, Ill., has received an order for a heavy-gauge slitting line from JM Steel’s new steel service center in Sinton, Texas. The line will process material up to 0.500 in. thick by 84 in. wide, with a maximum coil weight of 105,000 lbs.

The system will feature hands-free push-button strip threading from the uncoiler to the recoiler, allowing the operator to thread the coil without contacting the strip. It also will include automatic coil loading and a semiautomatic packaging line.

The new line will comprise a coil stage and load system, dual cone uncoiler, peeler breaker, entry crop shear, two packed arbor slitting heads, scrap choppers, tensioner system, roller leveler, exit crop shear, recoiler, exit coil lift, turnstile, and semiautomatic packaging line.
