Rolled Alloys adds laser to Ohio facility

Rolled Alloys has expanded the processing capabilities at its Fairfield, Ohio, facility with the addition of a TRUMPF TruLaser 3030 CO2 laser machine. Equipped with a 3,200-kW resonator, the laser can cut nickel alloys up to 0.1875 in. thick. This machine adds to the company’s other processing capabilities for stainless, nickel, cobalt, and titanium products including multiple lasers, waterjet, shearing, precision coil leveling, inspection, deburring, and finishing equipment.

The laser system features 60- by 120-in. rotating beds, along with automatic lens and nozzle replacements. Once the certification process is complete, it will cut parts that meet a variety of aircraft specifications.
