Sky Island Capital purchases majority control of Material Sciences Corp.

Material Sciences Corp. has announced that Sky Island Capital, a Dallas-based middle market private equity firm, has purchased majority control of the company.

MSC produces advanced materials and specialty coated metals for such end markets as transportation, building products, packaging, and consumer goods. With headquarters in Canton, Mich., it has production facilities in Elk Grove Village, Ill.; East Chicago, Ind.; Walbridge and Canfield, Ohio; and Toronto.
