U. S. Steel names VP/chief HR officer

Pittsburgh-based U. S. Steel Corp. has appointed Barry Melnkovic as vice president and chief human resources officer. He served previously as executive vice president and chief human capital officer for National Railroad Passenger Corp./Amtrak. He was named the 2016 HR Executive of the Year by Human Resource Executive magazine.

Melnkovic holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in human resources from Rutgers University.
