Union Partners acquires Automotive Steel Technical Center

Union Partners, Oak Brook, Ill., has purchased Heidtman Steel's Automotive Steel Technical Center located in Gibraltar, Mich., adjacent to Lee Steel, one of Union Partners' portfolio companies.

Union Partners will use the 9,500-sq.-ft. facility for testing and research in working with mills and OEMs to bring new AHSS and UHSS to the marketplace. The acquisition also provides the opportunity for future expansion to more than 150,000 sq. ft. at the company's existing Gibraltar facility./
