American Punch begins construction on plant expansion

American Punch Co., a manufacturer of punches, dies, and shear blades used in the structural steel and metal fabricating industries, has begun construction on a plant expansion that will nearly double the size of its production facility in Euclid, Ohio, and significantly increase its manufacturing capabilities.

The project will add 23,000 sq. ft. of plant space and 1,000 sq. ft. of office space to the existing facility. Two 80-ton air conditioning units are being installed to cool both the new addition and the existing plant.

The company will install 800 solar panels on the roof of the new building, which will produce more than 7 million kW of electricity over the next 25 years, reducing CO2 emissions by more than 11 million lbs.—the equivalent of taking about 65 cars off the road for each of the next 25 years.
