ADM Cleveland to feature John Ratzenberger as 2018 keynote speaker

UBM Americas, organizer of Advanced Design and Manufacturing (ADM) Cleveland, to be held March 7-8, 2018, at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland, has announced that Emmy®-nominated actor and dedicated advocates for American manufacturing, John Ratzenberger, will keynote this year’s event. In his presentation, Ratzenberger will discuss the importance of American manufacturing and how we can continue to advance the industry.

The tradeshow will feature new technology in automation, design engineering, packaging, plastics, and robotics. The free educational conference will focus on smart manufacturing, and the expo floor will include more than 250 suppliers.

Ratzenberger has delivered multiple speeches to Congress detailing the crushing regulations on American enterprise and the fact that the U.S. is running out of skilled tradespeople to fill the hundreds of thousands of available jobs. He speaks to groups across the country and works with legislators on both sides of the aisle to bring back trades training in schools and build apprentice programs for students, returning veterans, and out-of-work Americans while supporting the reshoring of American companies. Most recently he was appointed to the President’s Task Force on Apprenticeship Expansion with the mission of filling the skilled trades gap in America.

Ratzenberger also created Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs®, a foundation that creates and funds manufacturing summer camps and scholarships nationwide, inspiring the next generation of inventors and entrepreneurs. The program now is managed by Fabricators & Manufacturers Association Intl., Elgin, Ill.
