Allen, Texas-based All Metals Fabricating, celebrating 70 years in business, has initiated phase one of a $7 million automation plan with the end goal of a fully automated integrated cut-to-bend system.

The company has implemented Industry 4.0 throughout the business, including AI and automation through quoting and back-office accounting, robotics in manufacturing, machine monitoring software for visibility, departmental queue monitors with scheduling and real-time KPIs displayed, and employee performance dashboards for incentive-based bonuses.

Opened in 1953 as a sheet metal shop with a handful of capabilities, AMF was purchased in 1978 by Bill Thrailkill. Today, the contract manufacturer offers sheet metal fabricating, machining, electromechanical assembly, and powder coating.
