BCCC offers free metalwork training program to unemployed/underemployed

Bucks County Community College, Newtown, Pa., will offer a free, 12-week training program beginning Oct. 23 at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center in Bristol, Pa. Each week the program comprises four days in class and one day at a company tour.

The training program, which focuses on metal fabrication fundamentals, is designed to meet employer demand for skilled workers who may be currently unemployed or underemployed. It introduces students to the fundamental concepts and hands-on skills required in manufacturing and a variety of industries. Students will receive a certificate of completion, plus a NIMS, OSHA 10, and Forklift Safety Training certification.

Prospective students must attend one of two mandatory information sessions on Sept. 11 and Sept. 18 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
