Boeing opens training center to support parts fabrication

Boeing has opened a 71,000-sq.-ft. Workforce Readiness Center in Auburn, Wash., dedicated to training and skills enhancement for Boeing employees working in parts fabrication.

The new facility houses educational and training programs on topics from safety and retirement planning to the company’s Fabrication Production System (FPS). Mechanics and technicians will be able to receive equipment services training at the site to obtain necessary recertifications used for Boeing fabrication. The center also includes a robotics lab, which will be used to train employees to operate, program, and maintain robots.

Also relocated to the new site is the headquarters of International Association of Machinists/Boeing Joint Programs, which will operate apprenticeship programs from the facility.
