Chemetall opens laboratory in Mexico

The Surface Treatment global business unit of BASF's Coatings division, operating under the Chemetall® brand, has opened a laboratory at its 38,700-sq.-ft. manufacturing and office facility in Querétaro, Mexico.

The lab facilitates simulation and product development, offering analytical, application, and corrosion services. The analytical lab provides customer support, solution and surface analysis, manufacturing QC support, metalworking coolant management, inductively coupled plasma, ion chromatography, scanning electron microscope, Niton X-ray fluorescence, Auto-titrator, and Microtap. The application services lab provides process simulations using spray washers, immersion tanks, and paint spray booth processes. The corrosion lab offers salt spray, paint and film testing, cyclical testing, and humidity testing.
