Cornwell Quality Tools marks 100 years in business

Cornwell® Quality Tools, Wadsworth, Ohio, is marking 100 years since it was established by Eugene Cornwell, a skilled blacksmith, in 1919.

The company began with Cornwell hammering hand tools on his anvil and experimenting with various steels and heat treatments in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. As demand grew from the automobile, aviation, and mobile marine industries, the company expanded operations and moved to a larger building in Mogadore, Ohio, in 1927. The company was purchased by the Moeller family in the 1950s, and in 1970 it moved to Wadsworth.

Today Cornwell employs more than 300 people at two distribution centers located in Wadsworth and in Clearfield, Utah, along with three manufacturing facilities located in Albion, Mogadore, and Van Wert, Ohio.
