DeWys Mfg. receives grant for in-house training program

DeWys Mfg., Marne, Mich., a DeWys Metal Solutions Company, has been chosen as one of the recipients of the Going Pro Talent Fund. Provided by the state of Michigan in partnership with Michigan Works Agencies, the award is given to companies looking to offer continued education and skills growth for their current and future team members.

DeWys will receive more than $30,000 of the $40 million provided to 1,000 companies for hiring and retention of team members. DeWys will use its funds to enhance the training of new hires through DeWys University, an on-the-job, in-house training program developed in 2012. The funding this year will specifically be used toward the first six weeks of the team members’ employment with the company.
