FABTECH Canada to deliver dynamic lineup of special events focused on manufacturing trends, challenges, and advancements

FABTECH Canada, the country’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding, and finishing event, has announced this year’s lineup of keynotes, leadership panel discussions, and special events. This three-day event, taking place June 14-16 at Toronto Congress Center, is designed to provide attendees with long-awaited opportunities to reconnect, network, and hear from experts discussing emerging trends, common challenges, and important advancements within the manufacturing industry.

This year’s keynote lineup will feature three inspired leaders—each with their own unique experiences—who will tackle timely topics impacting the industry, including additive manufacturing, automated and data-driven strategies, labor shortages, leadership, and the importance of teamwork:

  • Dr. Jayson Myers, CEO of NGen - “Advanced Manufacturing: Canada’s Competitive Advantage” - June 14, 11 a.m.–12 p.m.
  • Doug Gilmour, former professional NHL captain - “Heart of a Captain” - June 15, 11 a.m.–12 p.m.
  • Sam Barrett, vice president - preconstruction, Walters Group - “Leadership Journey: People, Planning & Performance” - June 16, 11 a.m.–12 p.m.

The Leadership Exchange Panels will feature subject matter experts who will discuss the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities that are defining the future of manufacturing in Canada:

  • “The Digital Transformation and Canada’s Economic Strength” - June 14, 2–3 p.m.
  • “Considerations to Streamline Your Cyber Security Strategy” - June 15, 2–3 p.m.
  • “Changing the Gear Ratio — Women in the Automotive Industry” - June 16, 2–3 p.m. (Sponsored by the CWB Group)

Attendees can also network with peers during two special events. The Opening Night Reception, taking place on June 14, will celebrate the return and opening of FABTECH Canada 2022. Attendees also can join welding influencer Stephanie Hoffman—owner of UnderGround Metal Works Custom Fabrication and Welding School and a judge on the hit Netflix series “Metal Shop Masters”—for an informal meet-up at the Show Floor Social on June 15.

In addition to these special events, FABTECH Canada will include more than 50 conference sessions and workshops where attendees will discover solution-based, transformative content to address today’s biggest challenges, improve productivity, and increase profits to compete in the national and global marketplace. FABTECH Canada’s 80,000-sq.-ft. show floor will give attendees access to more than 200 exhibiting companies showcasing the latest innovations across every facet of the industry.

This year, FABTECH Canada is partnering with the CWB Group, an industry-supported private sector organization providing welding certification, management systems registration, and training services, to further provide connectivity and networking opportunities for Canada’s welding industry. The CWB Group will hold its CanWeld 2022 Conference in conjunction with FABTECH Canada on June 15-16.
