Fortescue to open manufacturing plant in Michigan

Fortescue's Detroit manufacturing plant

Fortescue, a global green energy, metals, and technology company, has announced plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Detroit. The location will become a hub for the company’s production of automotive and heavy industry batteries, fast chargers, and electrolyzers.

The firm will rehabilitate an existing, 410,000-sq.-ft. facility for manufacturing and engineering. Production is scheduled to begin in 2025, and the site has the potential to create up to 600 jobs as product lines ramp up to 2030, the company states.
