Hardinge Inc. names board chairman

Hardinge Inc., Elmira, N.Y., a provider of metal cutting systems and accessories, has announced that its board of directors has appointed B. Christopher DiSantis chairman of the board effective Aug, 25, 2017. Mitchell I. Quain, who has served as lead independent director for the past nine months, will remain on the board, serving as chairman of the nominating and governance committee and as a member of the compensation committee.

DiSantis, who joined the board in July 2016, is the CEO of Verso Corp., a producer of printing papers, specialty papers, and pulp. He serves on the nominating and governance committee and the compensation committee.
