Hurricane damage forces CB&I to close Texas facility

Netherlands-based Chicago Bridge & Iron Co. NV (CB&I) has permanently closed its Beaumont Fabrication Services Shop in Beaumont, Texas, because of irreparable damage from flooding sustained during Hurricane Harvey. The closure eliminates 455 jobs, with most employees being relocated to other facilities and job sites.

The energy engineering firm’s administrative headquarters is in The Woodlands, Texas.
