JARC addresses challenges in finding and developing skilled workers

Chicago-based nonprofit Jane Addams Resource Center (JARC) offers comprehensive training programs focused on metalworking, specifically welding and CNC machining, to staff a diverse segment that encompasses individual job shops and production departments in manufacturing companies.

U.S. manufacturers face an aging workforce, concerns regarding safety best practices, ongoing movement toward lean manufacturing, and the rapid emergence of new technologies. Through JARC, employers can access qualified workers and offer on-site training to current employees. In addition, job seekers can find classroom training in a simulated manufacturing workplace environment modeled on a shop floor.
