Manufacturing Basics training program begins Jan. 13 at Anoka Technical College

Anoka Technical College, Anoka, Minn., will offer a 90-hour Manufacturing Basics training program beginning Jan. 13. The class, which meets two days per week, is open to manufacturing company employees who have little or no formal training in manufacturing.

Topics include:

  • Measurement/inspection, materials, and safety
  • Blueprint reading/sketching
  • Drill machining
  • Saws and sawing
  • Single point tool grinding
  • Surface grinding
  • Lathe machining
  • Mill machining
  • Overview of CNC turning programming and operation
  • CNC milling programming and operation

Anoka County manufacturing companies with fewer than 100 employees qualify for tuition assistance. Others can participate at the full tuition rate. Two students per company will be accepted, with a maximum class size of 15 participants.
