Schaeffler to build manufacturing plant in Ohio

Germany-based motion technology company Schaeffler has announced the expansion of its operations in the U.S. with the addition of a plant focused on producing automotive electric mobility systems.

The company is investing more than $230 million to build a greenfield manufacturing facility in Dover, Ohio, and complete expansions in the state through 2032. The new facility will create about 450 job opportunities in the next eight years in assembly, welding, CNC, material handling, engineering, maintenance, and quality.

Construction of the new facility will begin in mid-2024 with an estimated completion in Q3 2025. With about 130,000 sq. ft. of advanced manufacturing space, the location will manufacture electric axles for light- and medium-duty vehicles.
