STI/SPFA announces Hall of Fame Award recipients

Charles A. Frey Jr.

Steel Tank Institute/Steel Plate Fabricators Association (STI/SPFA), Lake Zurich, Ill., has presented Charles A. Frey Jr., vice president of Highland Tank and Manufacturing, and Rich Horn, regional sales manager with Chicago Bridge & Iron Co., with its Hall of Fame Award.

The award honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the organization.

Frey served on the STI board in various roles, including vice president, president, and chairman. He also received the President's Award, President's Distinguished Award, and Service Award. Frey also served as president of the Steel Tank Association. He is an active association member who regularly contributes to committees and the industry.

Horn has been an active speaker at steel water tank seminars and has presented to nearly 3,000 attendees since 1994. He has been instrumental in developing tools, advertising, and other materials promoting the industry and the association. Horn served on the STI/SPFA board of directors as Field Erected Tank Section chairman and has received the Distinguished Service Award and Appreciation Award.

STI/SPFA is a not-for-profit trade association for companies that fabricate steel tanks, pipe, and pressure vessels for use in the petroleum, food, water, and chemical processing industries.
