Whirlpool Corp. to invest more than $65 million in Ohio plant

Whirlpool Corp. has announced it will invest more than $65 million over the next several years into its factory in Ottawa, Ohio. The investment will include an expansion to accommodate production of premium refrigeration products, including built-in refrigerators.

The expansion, to begin in mid-2022, is expected to create more than 100 jobs. Full production will begin in 2023.

The plant, established in 1990, currently produces freezers, under-counter icemakers, and hybrid heat-pump bases for ventless dryers.
