FARO acquires ATS AB

FARO Technologies Inc., Lake Mary, Fla., a provider of 3D measurement, imaging, and realization systems, has acquired Advanced Technical Solutions in Scandinavia AB (ATS), a Sweden-based provider of 3D digital twin technology.

The acquisition integrates ATS software and its proprietary Traceable 3D system, which enables accurate, repeatable 3D scans, into the FARO Webshare Cloud platform. The result is 10 times faster 3D imaging at up to 1-mm accuracy.

“High-accuracy 3D digital twin simulations allow capital-intensive industries such as automotive and aerospace to meaningfully reduce their time to market and cost,” said Michael Burger, FARO president/CEO.

Göran L. Bergqvist, co-founder of ATS, continues to lead the operation as CEO. The ATS facility in Sweden also acts as a Nordic sales and service center for FARO.
