Impossible Objects’ CBAM 25 3D printer breaks printing speed barrier

Impossible Objects has developed the CBAM 25 composite 3D printer, designed to bring 3D printing into mass production. Commercially available in early 2024, the machine prints 15 times faster than its fastest competition, according to the manufacturer.

The printer’s high-performance composite materials enable engineers to design stronger, lighter, and more durable parts. Most notably, the carbon fiber PEEK material set achieves high chemical and temperature resistance, producing components that serve as an alternative to aluminum, the company states.

The manufacturer currently is producing and selling parts in untapped 3D markets such as electronic tooling and for applications in the aerospace, defense, and transportation industries.
