PennEngineering’s PEM SH nuts, HFLH studs provide permanent threads for automotive component attachment

PEM® self-clinching SH™ nuts and HFLH™ studs from PennEngineering® are suitable for installing in thin high-strength steel sheets to provide permanent threads for mating hardware in automotive component attachment applications. These hard panel nuts and studs manufactured from hardened alloy steel can help contribute to overall weight reduction in vehicle assemblies.

They can be installed automatically using a standard press or in-die technology, eliminating embossing operations. Their small ODs enable close-to-edge mounting without the risk of sheet buckling. After installation, the reverse side of the host sheet will remain flush and unmarred for a clean appearance.
