Vision system added to Productive Robotics’ OB7 cobot

Productive Robotics has introduced a new, automated vision system for its 7-axis OB7 collaborative robot. The operator shows the cobot what to pick up, pushes one button, and the OB Vision learns to recognize the object and pick it up in one automated step.

The sighted cobot eliminates the need for fixtures and staging parts for pickup, and it enables manufacturers to produce more complex parts, the company states. It can perform vision-based bin picking and provide sensitive gripping for handling delicate parts.
