Carbide-roll burnishing tools produce mirror-like surface finish

Monaghan Tooling Group offers carbide-roll burnishing tools from Elliott Tool Technology that produce a mirror-like surface finish while eliminating secondary operations and machining setups. The rolls help improve surface irregularities and tool marks, producing surface finishes of 4 to 20 microinches. They are suitable for CNC turning centers and manual lathes for OD and ID/OD burnishing applications.

Carbide rolls can be reconditioned several times. Shank sizes are available from 1.5 to 2.0 in. dia. to process overall length of 9.5 to 18 in. Roll radii from 0.032 to 0.093 in. are available.
