HydroLogic sprinkler pipe from Bull Moose Tube offers high corrosion resistance

Bull Moose Tube has developed HydroLogic, a sprinkler-pipe product made from carbon steel that the company says offers superior corrosion resistance compared to galvanized steel and traditional carbon steel.

The material, called Optiform, is produced by Arcanum Alloys using spatially optimized diffusion-alloying techniques. This method decouples the steel’s surface properties from its bulk properties and changes the surface chemistry of the steel. The result is not a coating, but a metallurgically bonded diffusion alloy on the surface of the tube that can’t be removed or damaged.

The technology allows for the production of corrosion-resistant fire sprinkler pipe by creating surface alloys traditionally believed to be too expensive to implement into fire sprinkler systems.
