Organic zinc-rich epoxy coating offers recoat times as short as 30 min.

Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings has launched Zinc Clad® 4100, a new, high-solids coating featuring recoat times as short as 30 min. The three-component, organic, zinc-rich epoxy coating eliminates the need for sweat-in time. In addition, its packaging allows applicators to mix components directly in the Part A container.

Designed for use over properly prepared blasted steel, the primer provides cathodic protection to reduce corrosion potential if the steel substrate is exposed by coating damage. The coating also exhibits self-healing properties if it becomes damaged.

The coating meets Class B requirements for slip coefficient and creep resistance as defined by the Research Council on Structural Connections for use in slip-critical bolted connections in all U.S. states.
