Paint baffle introduced

The Accordion paint baffle from AFX Mfg. removes liquid particulates from an airstream through inertial separation. Exhausted air moves unobstructed through the accordion walls, propelling particulates against the front and back side walls, where they are deposited in deep pockets outside of the airstream. As pockets fill, arrestance efficiency improves while airflow remains uniform across the exhaust wall.

The single-stage design captures more than 98 percent of particulates at 6 lbs./sq. ft., as tested by ASHRAE 52.2, 2007. A standard baffle is available for use with tacky coatings that dry after collection, such as varnish, epoxies, and high solid enamels. A poly-back baffle also is available for use with flash-dry coatings that dry before collection, such as enamels, primers, and urethanes. The addition of the polyester backing adds a second, straining stage to capture more than 99 percent of exhausted overspray at 6.5 lbs./sq. ft.
