Compact Brevis 1212 AJ fiber laser from Amada cuts flat sheets, shaped materials

Amada will introduce the Brevis 1212 AJ fiber laser, which provides the versatility of a production-quality laser in a compact design. It features reliable, high-speed laser cutting; simple material loading; and an optional rotary index to process 3D material such as tube or pipe. Engineered for manufacturing flexibility, the machine is suitable for high-mix/low-volume production, with a maximum sheet size of 4 by 4 ft.

The 3-kW, single-diode module fiber laser engine provides for a high-quality beam parameter product (BPP). Laser mode and BPP are automatically optimized based on the material thickness being cut. Consequently, the system processes a variety of thin-to-thick materials efficiently without requiring a lens change. It cuts copper, brass, titanium, and exotic types of metals for both flat and 3D shapes.

The system’s fiber laser oscillator helps reduce power costs and contributes to an excellent price-performance ratio, according to the company.
