Fiber laser system cuts variety of materials with 3- to 15-kW power

Bystronic’s new ByCut Smart 3015 cuts thin to medium-thickness steel, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, and copper with high laser power from 3 to 15 kW.

The Nozzle Control Tool feature provides automatic nozzle centering at the beginning of a cutting plan and after collisions, eliminating the need for operator interaction. The KerfScan feature also functions as a monitor to help increase process reliability. They help eliminate incorrect settings and poor material quality to reduce scrap.

The Parameter Wizard feature determines the correct parameters for the user with nitrogen and MixGas for steel with thicknesses of 4 to 15 mm. MixGas combines oxygen and nitrogen for cutting thicker steel at increased cutting speeds.
