Mazak Optonics’ Optiplex 3015 direct-diode laser cutting system designed for higher cutting speeds

Mazak Optonics showcased two laser-cutting machines and one automation system at FABTECH, the highlight being the launch of the 6-kW Optiplex 3015 direct-diode laser (DDL).

The DDL uses a flying-optics, two-pallet-changer design with a new Mazatrol Preview G control and digital drive package. The machine includes a helical rack-and-pinion positioning system that provides higher cutting speeds.

The control provides optimized acceleration and deceleration for the reduction of cutting time plus tolerance control technology that allows for high-speed corner cutting. The machine optimizes setup automatically for each program.

It can be integrated into any of the company’s automation systems, included automated storage/retrieval systems.
