ToolBox quoting tool from Tempus Tools saves laser job shops time

Tempus Tools Inc. has introduced a new laser cutting and fabrication quoting tool suite. The ToolBox digital tool turns a CAD drawing into an accurate quote in seconds to help laser job shops save time, the company states. The tool also performs 3D unfolding: It can be fed full 3D schematics of a product and will select all the 2D sheet metal surfaces required to be cut by a laser shop.

The quoting tool includes a Quick Part parametric parts library with a variety of customizable parts, including brackets, flanges, gussets, and plates that can be adjusted to the specific needs of the user.

Users can select shapes, sizes, quantities, and materials and provide a folding quotation service by calculating the estimated time to run the press brake for the part’s requirements.

Key parameters are configurable by the user, either by manual input or by selecting fold or bend lines directly from the CAD drawing for calculation. With the user-friendly interface, users can feed these calculations into ERP, MRP, and other systems quickly.
