AGV optimizes smart factory logistics

Comau has developed the Agile1500 AGV with an open automation design for use in a variety of manufacturing applications.

Modular, scalable, and reconfigurable, the unit can carry up to 1.6 tons with a maximum speed of 5.5 FPS. With these characteristics, the AGV can facilitate core operations including JIT and just-in-sequence production, as well as help optimize logistic flows inside the factory, improve warehouse management, and increase overall production efficiency, the company states.

An integrated laser scanner stops the vehicle when it detects an obstacle along the route. The AGV can be fitted with different accessories.
