TimkenSteel app complements “Practical Data for Metallurgists” guide

TimkenSteel Corp. has launched a cloud-based mobile application to complement its “Practical Data for Metallurgists” printed guide. The app allows users to pull up the guide on their mobile phones or tablets and navigate to any section immediately.

The app takes up no space, and updates are automatic and happen in real time. It features a calculations tab featuring an interactive theoretical foot weight calculator; a listing of standard steels from the guide, including their chemical compositions, hardening abilities, and tolerances; other tabs from the guide, including steel chemistries, steel properties, tubing, bar, and miscellaneous information; a glossary tab with a listing of terms and definitions; and a “contact us” tab with phone numbers for company facilities and email buttons for key contacts.
